In this renovation, an extra floor was added to an existing apartment. A stairwell was created in the floor, including reinforcement of several beams, with minimal inconvenience to the residents.

The actual breakthrough only took place at the very end.

During demolition, original woodwork was discovered, which was reused for radiator covers. This design was initially planned only for the rear, but thanks to this find, it was also applied to the front.

The staircase is made of powder-coated steel with oak treads, and at the top a Frits Jurgens pivot door was installed, which can open in any direction and stays fixed at 90°.

Additionally, the herringbone oak floor was laid entirely by us. Everything was done according to our own design, with an eye for style and functionality.
